What is sanitation (wastewater)?

Wastewater, sometimes called sewage, is the byproduct of many uses of water such as showering, dishwashing, laundry and flushing the toilet. After the water has been used, it enters the building or home’s wastewater pipeline. After it connects to the District’s main wastewater pipeline, the wastewater flows to the Lone Tree Creek Water Reclamation Facility where it is treated.
