What happens after the wastewater reaches the treatment plant?

Upon reaching the plant, the wastewater first encounters preliminary treatment where items that either float to the surface or settle to the bottom are removed. The wastewater then flows to secondary treatment where the water is biologically treated through aeration. Aluminum sulfate is then added to precipitate phosphorous and this water is run through advanced filtration before being discharged to the creek per the requirements of our discharge permit.
